Application of Theory of Beam Analysis for Arterial Oil Pipelines across Swamps
Abstract A method is proposed for analyzing the deflection of underground and above-ground arterial oil pipelines across swamps with allowance for the thickness of the compressible layer of peat. The method is based on the theory of analysis of beams on a linearly deformable bed. A pipeline crossing a swamp is assumed to be an infinitely long beam subject to a linearly distributed load over its entire length.
