Accelerated ultrasound determination of the frost resistance of concrete in hydraulic structures
Conclusion These studies indicate that the method of accelerated determination of concrete frost resistance using ultrasound directly in the construction of hydraulic structures on the basis of the least probable concrete strength derived from control charts (Fig. 2) is simple and sufficiently reliable. In a number of cases, it can successfully replace the time-consuming standard frost-resistance tests run on concrete specimens; this enables us to reduce considerably the preparation of control specimens during construction and to lower costs incurred in monitoring the frost resistance of concrete in the laboratories of hydraulic-construction administrations.
