Conclusions In the hydropower industry and water management, with the introduction of self-supporting and self-financing, it is necessary to improve methods of substantiating hydropower and multipurpose water-management facilities.It is recommended to supplement the widely used method of minimum dynamic discounted costs by the more general method of multicriterion (multigoal) optimization.The method of multicriterion optimization in the hydropower industry and water management is open to public discussion.
