Conclusion The propsoed method makes it possible to perform similar calculations of erosion in the entire region of the active zone both along strips and into the depth of the floodplain, in addition it is possible to predict the dynamics of deformation of the floodplain also with time. It was established on the basis of the investigations that to provide safe operating conditions of a channel structure in the case of releasing high flood discharves, it is necessary to construct a spur and protecting rows of steel sheet pile or cylinder piles on the upper and lower pool sides and deep into the floodplain along the axis of the structure in the zone of flow past the structure. The dimensions of the spur are determined by relation (14). The length of the protecting rows and their founding depth are determined by calculations by the proposed method (having the size of the scour pocket in plan and depths of erosion for any site).
