Summary The paper contains the recommendations accepted at the RILEM “Non-Destructive Testing of Concrete” Working Group Meeting held at Varna in September 1968 regarding the resonance methods for testing concrete, part 1. Resonance Frequency Measurements. The following parameters are discussed: apparatus characteristics; shape, dimensions, curing conditions and age of specimen; support conditions; positioning of driver and pick-up of vibrations; calculations formulae for dynamic elasticity moduli; symbols and units in SI, and MKfS, systems.
