On the identification of mathematical models for steel strees-strain curves
Abstract The importance of a standardized mathematical model for the strain-stress curve of steel used in building technology is emphasized. The models proposed by RILEM TC 83-CUS are commented on in the framework of structural design at the ultimate limit state. A specific objective identification process is described and used with two categories of material. The idea of a skeleton curve depending only on the chemical composition is developed and proposed for discussion.
