An experimental-mechanics dynamic measurement procedure based on computer vision techniques
Abstract This paper describes a computer-vision based methodology for non-contact measuring of mechanical system movements. This methodology consists of frame-to-frame processing of video images corresponding to pictures acquired from vibrating structures. The main hardware and software tools are described here. Some benchmark tests are also shown so as to demonstrate the accuracy of the measurement methodology, Finally, perspectives of future developments and applications are discussed.
