Experience and Main Trends in the Russian Boiler Industry

This article presents the statistical data of power steam boilers installed at combined heat and power plants in Russia. This work also summarizes the experience of creating Russian boilers, starting from the first Ramzin straight-through boiler and ending with powerful boilers for a 1200-MW gas/oil unit and 800-MW pulverized coal unit. Notably, following the main global tendencies, Russian boiler plants are ready to create modern boilers for both ultra-supercritical parameters and circulating fluidized bed units and boilers for burning nonconventional fuels.
