The Determination of Rational Spacing of Anti-Slide Piles and Soil Pressure on Pile Sheet Based on Soil Arching Effect
Abstract Using the natural equilibrium arch theory, a reasonable arch axis equation is obtained by considering the influence of the lateral earth pressure. With the appropriate safety coefficient, three nonlinear equations about the arch control condition, the vault condition and reasonable arch axis equation are achieved. The reasonable pile spacing will be determined by solving these nonlinear equations. To solve the equations turned solve zero value extremum problem of an unconstrained nonlinear function and the solutions can be quickly searched using the MATLAB software. Meanwhile, the simplified granary method is adopted to calculate soil pressure on the pile sheet using the actual arch axis. Finally, the analysis of a calculation example indicates that the proposed method is much more reasonable.
