Rotation Enhancement of Conical Picks Coupled with Springs
Highlights Effect of the spring on the conical pick rotation was investigated experimentally for the first time.The combination of spring and conical picks resulted in higher amounts of rotation especially for 5 mm cutting depth.A precise conclusion was not drawn about the effect of the skew angle on rotation.4% of permanent deformation was observed on the spring as a result of 124 cutting tests.
