Determination of the Bearing Capacity of a Helical Pile Using Screwing Torque Considering Shaft Geometry
The design of efficient helical pile structures is complicated because existing design standards lack clarity. In this work, we discuss a method for determining the ultimate bearing capacity of a pile using the screwing torque recorded during its sinking. The parameters of the corresponding correlation dependence and a method for determining the soil contact friction along the cylinder and tapered lateral surfaces of the screwed pile shaft were determined.
