Participation in an Anti-Poverty Project
The purpose of this article is to give an account of the way in which community participation was encouraged in one particular project, the Pilton Partnership in Edinburgh, Scotland. The article will also describe how evaluation of participation was carried out, and what limitations there might be in evaluating processes of this nature. An assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of participation in the Pilton Partnership will be made, and of the contribution to the debate on participation made by the European Community Poverty 3 Programme, of which the Pilton Partnership was a part.
