Numerical simulation of room fire with water mist space filling volume
With the gradual elimination of the environmental toxicity of halon fire extinguishing agents, water mist fire extinguishing technology has been widely used for its environmental protection and high efficiency, and plays an increasingly important role in fire extinguishing. In this study, computational fluid dynamics model and fire dynamics simulator (FDS) were used to analyze the influence of droplet size and spray flow rate, two main factors affecting the filling volume of water mist space, on the fire extinguishing effect. The results show that when the limit water mist space filling volume is 6.57 × 10, it can effectively extinguish the 200Kw room fire. As the droplet size increases, the fire extinguishing time becomes longer, and the smaller the droplet size, the stronger the ability to isolate oxygen; as the flow rate of the nozzle increases, the fire extinguishing time becomes shorter. By reducing the droplet diameter or increasing the flow rate, the extinguishing time can be reduced.
