Carbon Footprint of Road Pavements: A Scientometric Review
Road construction is an important engineering process involving two of the most common materials, namely asphalt and concrete, both of which having various environmental effects. This study aims to review documents from 2000 to 2020 using the scientometric analysis method. The documents about carbon footprint of road pavements were obtained from Web of Science (WOS) and analyzed using scientometric analysis tools in terms of citation, the number of published documents and top journals, institutions, authors, countries, and keywords. Finally, the trends of researches on carbon emission from road pavement construction and the building sector were compared in brief. This investigation can provide researchers with the right perspective for future studies in this field.
