A Study on the Force Characteristics of Wooden Arch Corridor Bridges in Gansu
Baling Bridge in Weiyuan, Gansu Province is a unique combination system bridge of outrigger timber beam and through timber arch. The design mode and mechanical characteristics of this combination type of bridge have major significance in the study of traditional timber bridge. In this paper, Midas/civil finite element model of main arch structure is established, the deformation and internal force changes of joints under elastic and rigid connection are analyzed, and the main mechanical characteristics of the bridge are studied. The results show that: Baring bridge is mainly stressed by the through wooden arch system, and the extender beam system enhances the bearing capacity of the bridge. The stronger the joint stiffness is, the better the overall rigidity of the structure is, and the overall vertical displacement of the bridge is obviously improved.
