Living Inspired by Nature: Two Scenarios of Green Buildings in Sri Lanka
The paper presents the experience developed in Sri Lanka to define a new idea of sustainable living implementing a concept design of a new residential area, based on the principle of green buildings. The project focuses on creating buildings which are not only good for the environment but also support sporting area, green space, common outdoor facilities, for a healthier, happier and better living inspired by nature. Two different scenarios of master plan were developed and three general objectives identified for implementing green building design and construction: resource conservation, cost efficiency and design for human adaptation.
