Free Vibration Analysis of FG Sandwich Plates on Elastic Foundation Using a Refined Quasi-3D Inverse Sinusoidal Shear Deformation Theory
In this paper, an efficient refined quasi-3D shear deformation theory (R-QSDT) integrated with the meshless method based on moving kriging interpolation for free vibration analysis of functionally graded (FG) sandwich plates resting on the elastic foundation is developed. The displacement field of R-QSDT accommodates an inverse sinusoidal variation of the transverse shear strains, stresses across the plate thickness and satisfies the vanishing of transverse shear stresses on the plate top and bottom surfaces and no correction factor is required. The R-QSDT considers the stretching effect by only four number of unknowns which are less than the existing quasi-3D shear deformation theories. Numerical examples are presented to certify the accuracy of the present method for the free vibration of FG sandwich plates resting on two-parameter elastic foundation.
