Proposal of Graphic Restitution of Linear Landscape
Abstract The passage of time modifies the profile of cities, although knowing and preserving their memory is possible, by measuring and graphically reconstructing their linear landscape. In order to be able to measure accurately in situ, a fast and efficient methodology has been used with a multistation, which allows the measurement by laser scanner and positioning at all times in the same coordinate system established through a traverse or triangulation. The reconstruction of the buildings that disappeared from the 1930s to the present day has been based on a historical study in different archives. The objective is to compare the existing street profile before the twentieth century with the linear landscape of today, by implanting a graphical methodology, that can be used for the study of other similar patrimonial sets. The street to study in the historical centre of the city of Cartagena, preserves buildings that were designed by some of the most famous architects that marked style, such as Francisco de Paula Oliver, Víctor Beltrí, Carlos Mancha or Tomás Rico, leaving their mark on the façades reproduced and that part of them that still remains. This methodology would allow establishing a graphic documentary fund of architectural heritage, in this case of streets and cities. It is proved that these methods are a good ally to achieve their dissemination, thus contributing to the conservation of memory of cities and their evolution.
