The Relations of Wave Characteristics and Pile Group Foundation on Light Beacon Port Harbor, Study Case: PPS Nizam Zachman Jakarta Indonesia
Light beacons are one of the important facilities that must be built at the entrance to the port as one of the navigational facilities. In some cases, the position of light beacon signs can’t be built in land locations so the light beacons are placed in water. Placement of beacon signs on the waters needs to pay attention about “planning aspects” including aspects of function, location, disturbance/influence of forces caused by nature and other factors. For these reasons, one important factor that needs to be calculated is the characteristic of the waves at the location to determine their effect on the type of foundation construction, dimensions, and the position and direction of Light Beacon group foundation. The research method used to determine the relationship between wave characteristics and pile group foundations includes: (1) collecting physical data and technical data regarding the research location and light beacon, (2) performing data processing and wave transformation modeling using Delpt3D software, (3) analysis of wave force and wave direction to obtain a relationship or directional function between the wave characteristics and the pile group foundation. The results of the research show that the placement and direction of the Light Beacon foundation is affected by the direction of the applied forces. The results of this study can be used as a reference in the planning of pile group foundations in offshore, especially in planning light beacon signs construction.
