From Garden City to City in a Garden and Beyond
Abstract Fifty years of greening efforts have made Singapore a ‘City in a Garden’. Although the greening of the Nation is mainly implemented by the National Parks Board (NParks), other Government agencies and private entities are also contributing to greening the City. Cross-agency initiatives, such as the Park Connectors programme that benefited from the cooperation with the Public Utilities Board (PUB) in charge of the monsoon drains, provide new opportunities to make Singapore greener in the context of an increasingly dense urban environment.
