Study on Real-Time Monitoring of an Actual Slope and Slope Stability Management Criteria
Due to the heavy rainfall caused by extreme weather events, the number of landslides in Japan is increasing on a decadal basis. In this study, choosing the stability of an actual slope as the research object, inclinometers and piezometers were installed on the target slope and the management criteria using real-time monitoring that started after taking countermeasures were investigated. Numerical analyses of the slope were then conducted to clarify the relation of groundwater level, ground displacement and slope safety factor before and after taking countermeasures. Safety factor of the slope was analyzed by the shear strength reduction method, changing the water level with reference to the monitoring results. Based on the results of numerical analysis, management criteria using real-time monitoring were proposed.
