Post-grouted Deep Foundations: Individual and Group Responses

Grouting of deep foundations is considered to be one of the most successful techniques for increasing their available load-carrying capacity under permissible service displacement. This paper provides an overview of the results of the studies, in which the author participated in the role of a primary researcher, on two types of grouted foundations, namely post-grouted drilled shaft and jetted and grouted precast pile (JGPP). The axial responses of both types of foundations in single and group placement are presented. Further, simple lateral response and coupled torsion and lateral response of JGPPs under one of the typical field loading scenarios, i.e. foundation for mast arm and overhead cantilever structures, are discussed.
