A Python-Driven Application for Evaluating Lifecycle Resilience of Water Distribution Network
Abstract Water distribution network (WDN), often residing underground, is part of urban lifeline system. Assessing a WDN’s resilience against natural and anthropological hazards is of practical importance in geotechnical communities. Based on a newly proposed framework for lifecycle WDN resilience assessment, a Python-based application is developed for evaluating the resilience of a WDN considering aging and impulsive perturbation over its life cycle. The application is equipped with a set of modules, which enable hazard scenarios simulation, component survival analysis, system response analysis, recovery analysis, resilience quantification, and data visualization. The main features of the application are illustrated through a WDN in a seismically active region.
