Investigation and Calculation of Channel Deformations in the Lower Reaches of Low-Head Hydraulic Structures of Lowland Rivers
The article considers issues of studying channel deformations in the downstream reaches of low-head hydraulic structures. The research relies on detailed measurements of cross-sectional and longitudinal profiles and hydraulic characteristics of the flow in the lower reaches of the Amu Darya River. As a result, new patterns of flow-channel interaction, as well as sediment transport, were obtained for the regulated flow conditions. The study proposes a simplified hydro-morphometric method for calculating channel deformations based on the sediment balance equation of a one-dimensional model and morphometric relationships.
