Comparative Study on Seismic Behaviour of G+41 Storey Frame with X, K and V Bracings
The demand for tall structures are high now a days as the population is growing day by day. These structures are used for residential, commercial and industrial purposes all around the world. Seismic resistance of these tall structures is an important factor because natural hazards like earthquakes are unpredictable. Bracings are an important way to resist lateral loads which can hence increase the capacity of buildings to resist earthquake loads. In this work, we studied the seismic behaviour of G+41 storey steel frame with concrete slab under X, K and V bracings using STAAD Pro V8i by response spectrum method and equivalent static method. Storey displacement and base shear were evaluated for all the frames. Out of all the studied bracings, V bracing provided more efficient seismic resistance to the building.
