Steam-curing of portland sand-cements

Abstract This paper reports on: a) Effect of high pressure steam curing (up to 40 atm.) on the rate of hydration of ordinary portland cement; b) Behaviour of sand cements (up to 25% sand) when subjected to high-pressure steam curing. The behaviour was investigated, with respect to the activity (rate of lime-silica reaction) and strength development of the autoclaved sand cements.

Résumé Cet article traite: a) de l'effet du traitement à l'autoclave jusqu'à 40 atm sur la vitesse d'hydration du ciment Portland ordinaire; b) du comportement des ciments de sable (jusqu'à 25% de sable) traités à l'autoclave. Ce comportement a été étudié d'après l'activité (vitesse de la réaction chaux/silice) et le développement de la résistance des ciments de sable autoclavés.
