CFD Simulation of Pressure Distribution on the Facade with Loggias
Creating a geometry of the building for wind loads study is always easier without any details on the facade, this simplification may save time on the design stage and calculations. However, it can affect the accuracy of the calculation. The paper presents the influence of loggias on the building facade on pressure distribution using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The necessity of these details is checked by analyzing the pressure distribution on the facade for three wind directions β = 0º, 45º, 90º. The results show, that in all cases pressure on the façade of the building without loggias is higher, consequently the building can be modeled without loggias for example for the strength calculations. But there are some areas where the values of the pressure differ significantly.
