Primary spherulite nucleation in polypropylene-based blends and copolymers
Abstract The properties of a polymer can be extensively modified by physical mixing with another polymer. The properties of the resulting polymer blend depend not only on the composition and processing conditions but also on the physical state of each component at the temperature of application of the blend. Most of the theoretical and experimental investigations of the properties of polymer blends concern mainly systems containing amorphous components [1]. Recently, for both fundamental and practical reasons, blends with crystallizable components have received increasing attention [2].
