One-Dimensional Steady Flow Hydraulic Model for Flood Inundation Mapping
In this study, HEC-RAS has been utilized for using its one-dimensional consistent stream steering capacity for flood inundation mapping. Arc-GIS was likewise used for the setup of DEM of the investigation region. The range of the Barak waterway between Annapurna and Badarpur ghats including its tributary Katakhal was chosen as the examination zone to set up the one-dimensional consistent stream model. The DEM has been collected from the USGS site and handled in Arc-GIS for acquiring the geology of the examination region for extricating the geometry. Consistent stream information and roughness coefficient was relegated to the prepared model and recreation were finished. The inundation mapping capacity of the RAS mapper, a tool of HEC-RAS was used. Simulation results demonstrated flood at maximum locations of the selected river reaches. The purpose is to help the emergency managers and disaster relief officials to be more ready for such situations and develop strategies to minimize the losses due to floods in the study area.
