Inhabited Drawings: A Century of Manners of Representing the Architecture Experience

This research aims to elucidate how the architectural drawing expresses the experiencing architecture. To this end, it approaches around one hundred of drawings of the last century as cases of study in which the human figure appears. By means of their close observation, it establishes a conceptual matrix composed of spatial and temporal elements. The size, position and direction of the bodies within space, the number of actors, the graphic techniques, the actions of the figures and even the moment of their insertion in the drawing, structure our systematic study of the drawings and allow to raise compared analyses among them. Beyond this point, the research addresses those drawings inhabited by other kinds of occupiers such as buildings, sculptures, pieces of furniture or machines that likewise evoke a particular manner of experiencing architecture.
