Moisture Measurement
Abstract Moisture content (MC) of wood affects almost all physical and mechanical properties of wood and moisture content must always be measured. Indirect methods using relationship between some physical quantities such as electrical resistance and MC are frequently used. Such methods usually require calibrations for various species, temperature corrections and are direction dependent.Direct (weight method) method will give accurate moisture content measurement but both, indirect and direct methods are local and number of measurements is required to obtain MC value representing the average MS of investigated structural member.
