Shape Optimization of the Trench by Genetic Algorithm
The results in Chapter 4 showed that the most important parameters for the design of an efficient barrier is the location and the geometry of the barrier, mainly depth and width. The same FEM coupled with a genetic algorithm presented in Chapter 4 was used to obtain the optimized configuration of geofoam and concrete-filled barriers. In this chapter, an approach is proposed by coupling a FEM, with a genetic algorithm through Python programming language to obtain the optimized configuration of geofoam and concrete-filled barriers.
