Loads of Underground Structures
Abstract The loads on underground structures are complex and the determination method is not perfect enough, which should be studied further. The load action mechanism of underground structures is different from that of the structures on the ground or in the air. Underground structures are buried underground and their loads come from the stratum itself. The strata pressure acting on the underground structures is complex, which is related to many factors, such as the duration between excavation and support, mechanical properties of rock and soil, the original strata pressure, the excavation size, the groundwater level, and the construction methods.
