Fire Following Earthquake and Falling Debris Hazards
This chapter firstly presents the fire following earthquake (FFE) simulation method considering the earthquake-induced damage to the sprinkler systems. Subsequently, physics-based FFE simulation and high-fidelity visualization, considering seismic damage to buildings, are proposed. In addition, prediction models replicating the falling behavior and distribution of falling debris on the ground are developed based on experimental and numerical studies. Furthermore, taking into account the adverse impact of the falling debris, emergency shelter planning and pedestrian evacuation simulation are also proposed.
