Numerical Investigation of Steel Concrete Hybrid Beam
Hybrid beam is a progress to the construction industry. When a steel section such as an I section is attached to a concrete component such that there is a transfer of forces and moments between them, then a steel concrete hybrid member is formed. Motivation behind employing the hybrid system was to make up the mutual deficiencies of RC and Steel systems. An analytical model of steel concrete hybrid beam will be developed using ANSYS software. In this study, reinforced hollow concrete beams, which weigh about 15% less than steel–concrete composite frames, preserving the merits of solid concrete beams, including reduced floor depth and steel I beams are used to form a hybrid beam subjected to eccentric loading which includes the performance evaluation of lipped I section in hybrid beam and study of rib portions in I beam.
