Fatigue Strength of Highway Bridge PC Slabs Due to Wheel Loads
Abstract This study is intended to describe on the durability of wheel load fatigue of the PC slabs in the highway bridge. The new evaluation method on the strength of fatigue of the PC slabs was proposed on the basis of the results of investigating and verifying as an evaluation method to calculate the punching shear capacity of PC slabs just before destruction. Furthermore, while the calculation formula which applied a new fracture mechanics model from the results of the literature survey was proposed, it was carried out to investigate whether it was possible to evaluate the test results of fatigue using the new calculation formula. As the result, it seems that it is possible to estimate the strength of fatigue in the PC slabs by comparing with the strength of fatigue of the RC slabs obtained by the S-N curve. This paper was reported to the directions and issues of the study on the evaluation method of the durability for fatigue in the PC slabs.
