Environmental impact assessment of the Krapivino hydro development
Conclusions An environmental impact assessment of the Krapivino hydro development in may respects compelled a new look at surveying, planning, and research activities. A program of measures on restoration and protection of water resources of the Tom basin, including streamflow regulation by the Krapivino reservoir, was developed. The concept of step-by-step realization of the measures taking into account the current economic conditions was proposed. The need was found for not only a comprehensive substantiation of project studies solving problems of the region but also for special work on adaptation of the project, i.e., its coordination with all interested parties, on which realization of the project depends. Such work in our country is new for designers, surveyors, and researchers working in the sphere of hydropower construction.
