FFT-Enhanced 4th-Order Spectral Representation Method: Simulating Non-Gaussian Wind Pressures
In this work, a generalized fourth-order spectral representation method (SRM) is proposed for symmetrically non-linear non-Gaussian random processes. An analytical formula is derived to simulate the generalized fourth-order non-Gaussian random process. Another significant feature of this method is the efficient combination of the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) with the fourth-order spectral representation, which provides an enhancement technique to significantly improve simulation efficiency. Finally, to validate the proposed method’s effectiveness, numerical simulations are carried out utilizing non-Gaussian wind pressure data acquired from wind tunnel experiments.
