Marine Submerged
The first case employed for benchmarking the chloride ingress models is a marine test site in Sweden, where concrete panels are long-term (partly) submerged in sea water as part of an experimental research program for gathering chloride ingress data on concrete durability. In this test case, the concrete is continuously in a submerged condition which mimics a constant surface chloride concentration and is therefore indicated as Marine Submerged. This chapter reports the benchmarking performance of both analytical and numerical models where the calibration and prediction performance of the various participating models is compared and evaluated for 0.6, 1, 2, 5, 20, 50 and 100 years of exposure.
