Disturbed State Concept (DSC) for Constitutive Modeling of Geologic Materials and Beyond
The disturbed state concept (DSC) has been used for constitutive modeling of soils (sands and clays). It has been also used for other materials such as rocks, rockfill, asphalt, concrete, silicon, polymers, and interfaces and joints. Because of its generality and unified nature, it has found applications for topics such as active and passive earth pressures, and representation of transfer function for piles. It also can include critical state and self organized criticality (SOC) as special cases. This paper presents a brief description of the DSC and then lists publications by the Author and Coworkers, and “by Other Researchers” on the DSC and its applications. A review is also presented about other available models for Geomaterials and the rationale for the need and development of the DSC.
