Some Aspects of Modelling Near Field Acceleration Time Histories
Abstract By means of response time histories it is shown that a sufficient stochastic load model for earthquake accelerations has to include nonstationary behaviour of both, amplitude and frequency content. A model which fulfilles this requirement is the Evolutionary Spectra (ESP) model. A filter procedure to estimate the ESP is suggested. A Single-Degree-Of-Freedom (SDOF) system is used as filter element and the transient behaviour of the filter element is included in the procedure.
