Conclusions 1. During acceleration of a fluid protraction of the occurrence and suppression of eddy stresses occur, as a consequence of which the use of the quasisteady approach for determining the values of the Reynolds stresses is not valid. 2. As follows from the experimental data presented, at the start of generation of turbulence the stresses - and - have the same order and stresses - cannot be neglected in calculations.
