Prediction of Complex Deterioration and Evaluation of RC Structural Performance
Abstract RC structural performances (load-bearing performance) degrade by deterioration of reinforcement bar. We should maintenance to structural performance degradation. In order to maintenance effective and efficiently, it is important to predict structural performance at the present and in the future. There are various deterioration factors that cause structural performance degradation: carbonation, salt damage, frost damage and so on. Some deterioration factors affect each other. In this study, we focused on the salt damage which greatly affects the corrosion of reinforcement bar. However, we also focused on carbonation, because which affects progression of salt damage and has simultaneity with salt damage. Therefore, as targets in this study, the prediction for the complex deterioration caused by the carbonation and salt damage was investigated. At first, it was carried out to comprehend deterioration progress of the complex deterioration from analytical results of specimens used as the accelerated deterioration test in the laboratory and taken from existing structures. And the complex deterioration was evaluated on characteristic and variability of deterioration progress. Based on these evaluation results, while structural performance at the present and in the future was estimated, variability of structural performance prediction results and probability for the required performance were also estimated. In this paper, we mainly report evaluation results of the complex deterioration of existing structures, and we also report evaluation results of structural performances.
