After the basics of heat transfer calculation (heating load and cooling load) are explained, heating and cooling systems are described, divided into generation and distribution. The distinction is made according to energy carrier (generation) and the use of renewable energy. Holistic supply concepts with integrated heating, cooling and power-heat-cold-coupling systems are presented with numerous examples. Heating and cooling distribution systems in rooms are presented as an essential feature of the perceived thermal quality with design tips and examples.
