Abstract In this chapter, we briefly discuss about the localized states in the quantum Hall regime, various studies on the localization length, and the scaling theory of the IQHE. We have also presented a brief introduction of the edge states and a review of some of the experimental and theoretical studies of transport in the edge channels.
