Experience in improving water desalination technologies at thermal power plants

Promising modern approaches to desalination of water with varying degrees of mineralization are analyzed. Experience with the operation of desalination units at the Saransk TÉTs-2 (Heat and Electric Power Plant), Ivanovo steam-gas units, and Kazan TÉTs-3 is described. These results are used as a basis for developing three kinds of water desalination units which combine different water-treatment technologies.
