Green Corridor and Bioclimatic Comfort in the High-lands of Cusco-Peru, 2023
The present research aims to propose a green corridor with public spaces that guarantee an optimal comfort for resident and itinerant users in the city of Cusco, Peru. This project is based on the lack of comfortable green infrastructure that could allow social and cultural integration between residents and visitors. Likewise, this allows re-evaluating the ancient techniques and strategies of the Inca bioclimatic design. The methodology is developed in 3 steps. First the characterization of the existing public spaces in the city of Cusco, to then proceed with the topographic and climatic analysis of the terrain and finally, differentiate the best suited bioclimatic design strategies for the com-fort of the user and the more appropriate clean energies to be applied in the project. The entire project is supported with the use of digital tools for 2D and 3D design like AutoCAD, Rhinoceros and Sketchup; as well as bioclimatic design software.
