GANPILE method - reasonable pile driving method to embed steel piles into the bedrock
In GANPILE method, it is difficult to fill the gap between the pile and bedrock completely, and there is a possibility that the pull-out resistance in the bedrock is not generated. Therefore, this method has not been applied to permanent piles that require pull-out resistance to withstand earthquakes. In addition, a standard to evaluate the bearing capacity of the piles in the bedrock has not yet been established. Therefore, the authors improved the conventional GANPILE method and developed a construction method to fill gaps, so that this method can be applied to permanent piles. In addition, based on validation tests such as laboratory tests and on-site pile loading tests, the characteristics of end bearing capacity and skin friction resistance of piles in the bedrock were clarified.
