Large Reclamation Constructions in Suburbs of Sokolov Town in the Czech Republic
Remediation and reclamation are gradual and long-term means to mitigate the impact of mining activities in order to restore the functional elements of the landscape, restore the landscape character and maximize diversity and aesthetic value of the landscape. Territorial extent of reclamation in the Sokolov surroundings is significant - more than 9300 ha. This paper focuses on integration of reclamation to urbanized space, as most constructed works - technical reclamations – were created in the immediate vicinity of settlements i.e. Sokolov and other preserved villages in the region.
