Numerical Simulation of Concrete Fracture Through a Bilinear Softening Stress-Crack Opening Displacement Law
Abstract The crack growth process in concrete is analyzed by a cohesive crack model. A bilinear descending stress-crack opening displacement diagram is considered to simulate the flexural behaviour of pre-cracked specimens. Although the shape of the diagram affects the theoretical value of the maximum load, such a dependence is smaller and smaller by decreasing the material fracture energy and/or increasing the specimen size.
